Hanging by a thread...

Wednesday, August 08, 2007

So summer is coming to a close and I'm not quite sure what to make of it...I feel like a lot has happened while not enough has happened. A couple of my friendships have really strengthened, and I'm grateful for that. But despite all of this, I feel like not enough has happened...I suppose its because it all happened in the latter part of the summer, but still...knowing that I won't be able to see certain people during the school year blows me~

Either way, although summer seems like its ending, I do realize that this year will be different and new..I definitely have a lot more responsibilities for this upcoming year and I expect my workload to be much harder than last year...One poem that really came to mind while thinking of what to write was The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost:

TWO roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;            5

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,            10

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.            15

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The road not taken definitely has more hardship, but like Rob said, it makes all the difference.
